- Is there an age limit to who can learn to
drive?
Yes! You must be at least 17 years of age unless you qualify through
mobility requirements at age 16. As long as you are in possession of a valid UK provisional driving licence,
have no health problems and have not been banned from driving, you can learn to drive...simple!
- How long does it take to learn to
drive?
The
DSA reckons that on average it takes about 40 hours of lessons with
an approved driving instructor plus approximately 20 hours of private practice. However, this is an average
you may take more or less hours than this.
- What must I do before I take my first
driving lesson?
You will require a valid UK
provisional driving licence - forms are available at most Post Offices. Once you have received your provisional
driving licence, contact www.allpassdriving.co.uk and we will enrol you with one of our DSA Approved Driving Instructors. Please
ensure you bring both parts of your driving licence on your first lesson so that your driving instructor can
record your details onto your pupil training record, as well as verifying that you do actually have a valid
UK provisional driving licence. If everything goes well with your lesson, you can book subsequent
lessons directly with your driving instructor.
- Can I have a Driving Lesson before I
receive my provisional driving
licence?
No! You must hold a provisional driving licence for the category
of vehicle being driven before
you can legally drive that vehicle on public roads.
- Can I take my Practical Driving Test before my
Theory and Hazard Perception Test?
No! You must pass your ‘Theory & Hazard Perception Tests’ before you
can book your ‘Practical Driving Test’.
- What will happen if I can’t find my driving
license prior to sitting my Theory/ Practical Driving
Tests?
You must produce both parts of your driving
licence before you can sit a theory or practical driving test. If you do not have the new style 2 part
driving license, you must bring valid photo identification with the old style driving licence.
Failure to produce your driving licence when you turn up to sit your theory or practical driving
test will result in your test being cancelled and you will lose your test fee. If you have misplaced your
driving licence you can apply for a replacement from the ‘Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency’
(DVLA).
A replacement driving licence can take up to 15 days to arrive. Remember - No
Driving Licence = No Theory/Practical Driving Test!
- I would like to do an intensive driving course.
Is this something you do?
Yes, we offer many intensive driving
courses. Please take time to review specific details on our website.
- What's the best intensive driving course for me?
The DSA state, "Those who pass their driving test have had, on average, about 45
hours of professional training combined with 22 hours of private practice. Learners who prepare this way, with
a combination of plenty of professional training and plenty of practice, do better in the test".
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/PracticalTest/DG_4022483
.
We couldn't agree more, as"more" is always better than "less" when it comes to learning to drive. However, many of our
most successful students have started from scratch and passed their practical driving test in 30
hours.
- When can I start my intensive driving
course?
Before commencing an intensive driving course, you
must wait until you have passed your theory test first. This is because the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) will
not allow you to book a practical driving test until you are in possession of a valid theory test pass
certificate. Once you have this, we can book your practical driving test.
- Why take an intensive driving course? What are
the benefits to me?
Good question, but the answer is simple.
You will save yourself a lot of time! At the beginning of the week you are a complete novice driver and by the
end of the week (or the week after that depending on which course you purchase) you have a full UK driving
licence. Also, many people require their driving licence in order to secure a job….we see this all the time and
the only solution is a well structured intensive driving course.
- Do these courses really
work?
Yes, they really do! As a matter of fact, the author of
this website gained a full UK driving licence after completing a 20 hour intensive driving course over a 2 week
period - FACT!
Even if you fail your practical test at the first attempt, the time spent on your
intensive driving course will have helped you considerably and with a bit of luck, you'll pass on your second
or third attempt. However, please bear in mind that
- Do you guarantee a
pass?
Absolutely NOT! No person connected with the driver training industry
can make such a guarantee. If you come across anyone who does - stay well away from them and their
company. However, we can guarantee that we'll provide you with an industry and nationally recognised
training system (workbook and driver training DVD) that is designed to accelerate the overall learning
process. If used correctly, you should achieve the required standard of driving and confidence necessary
to help you pass the practical driving test within a short period of time. As for the test itself, that's
down to you. If you drive to the standards we teach you, then you should have no problem passing your
practical driving test. However we must stress - there are NO GUARANTEE'S!
- When and how do I pay for my Intensive Driving
Course?
We require £150 deposit to secure the booking for your intensive driving course. You can pay
by cash, postal order, cheque, bank draft or bank transfer. Cheques must clear in our account before you
start your driving course. We also accept debit or credit card payments by using the PayPal online secure
payment system. All payments made this way will incur a small charge - the amount chargeable will depend
on the intensive driving course purchased.
- Do you offer residential
courses?
Yes, we do. We will provide you with details of local hotels and bed and breakfast
establishments in our area. All costings for accommodation are separate from your intensive driving
course fee and must be dealt directly with the proprietor of the establishment you stay in. It is also
recommended that you bring a laptop computer with you so that you can watch the training DVD's we provide
you with.
- Do you offer discounted driving lessons if I fail
my intensive driving course?
Yes, we do. We will provide you with 10 additional hours of driving tuition for only
£160. You don’t need to purchase all 10 hours (although we’d advise you to do this - after all you
failed first time around). We will offer you additional lessons in multiples of 2 hours at a
time.
